There needs to be an audit or investigation because were not gonna take the Senate now and this money has been squandered, added the consultant, who spoke to the outlet on condition of anonymity. Its a rip-off.
Florida Sen. Rick Scott, who chairs the NRSC, has been attacked by Republicans for featuring himself in ads and releasing a policy agenda that caused trouble for the GOP, leading to quips that NRSC stands for National Rick Scott Committee.
NRSC funds had reportedly reached $173 million this election cycle but were already down to $28.4 million by the end of June.
The committee spent more than $12 million on American Express credit card payments with an unclear purpose, along with $13 million for consultants and $9 million on debt payments, the Post said.

(135,892 posts)The Columbia/HCA settlement has since been surpassed in dollar value, though the bigger cases involved Medicare somewhat less directly. Because the Democratic Party could have been a bit more specific in its wording -- by saying that Scott oversaw the largest Medicare fraud at the time -- we rate the claim Mostly True.

Wake the fuck GQP. Yea, I said it, get WOKE you ignorant SOBs. Dont wait to wake up one day and SS is gone and Skelator is smirking with billions of your retirement. Ya think Medicare got fully reimbursed for his theft and he got financial justice? Fuck no, he can legally run for President. Idiots elected him Gov, then an even higher Government job AFTER being found guilty.
Retirees requiring Medicare and Social Security just to survive while HE lives the life off of your lifelong investment are the stupidest of stupid to vote for him. Jesus is NOT going to appear with one fish and one loaf of bread to feed your asses. And he will not pay for insulin or touch you to heal diabetes. Get the fuck WOKE up.

In a highly unusual move, the National Republican Senatorial Committee this week canceled bookings worth about $10 million, including in the critical states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Arizona. A spokesman said the NRSC is not abandoning those races but prioritizing ad spots that are shared with campaigns and benefit from discounted rates. Still, the cancellations forfeit cheaper prices that came from booking early, and better budgeting could have covered both.
The fact that they canceled these reservations was a huge problem you cant get them back, said one Senate Republican strategist, who like others spokes on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal matters. You cant win elections if you dont have money to run ads.
The NRSCs retreat came after months of touting record fundraising, topping $173 million so far this election cycle, according to Federal Election Commission disclosures. But the committee has burned through nearly all of it, with the NRSCs cash on hand dwindling to $28.4 million by the end of June.
GOP fundraising seems to have fallen in part due to TFG's fundraising efforts
This will be a fun fight to watch

(46,765 posts)This reminds me of that episode of X-Files where a group of suburbanites decided to worship the devil, and after they reaped the rewards of their allegiance to Satan and got comfortable with their lifestyles, they decided to ignore the part about sacrifices to the devil, so the devil came to town in the shape of a Librarian and turned into a giant snake and them all up.
Only in real life, the devil doesn't have to look like a frail librarian, because these idiots can't recognize Satan even if he looks like Voldermort.

It's the Perfect Storm of republican greed.
The republican list of crazy candidates has absolutely nothing to do with their lack of fundraising. Nothing at all, so stop saying that!
We need Bob Boudelang, angry American patriot, to make a return appearance on the pages of DU. He could explain it all in a way any Trumphumper could understand.

Florida, Georgia, Colorado, Alaska, Wyoming need to watch. Have ya heard a word out of Cawthorn? Now they are setting him up for prison and out of politics and bankrupt. Hey Liz, you got connections and can raise Pope level cash and influence to cleanse the cult.
Send em all to the farm with Cawthorn, out of sight, away from mics and cameras and out of our lives, and bank accounts.

(4,012 posts)..siphoned cash will line other grifter's pockets. This is a win for us as its just like donations to any Trump entity will NEVER go to help elect R candidates. it's a win-win in my book since long after the November elections both of those miscreants may be held criminally accountable, too late for those Senate hopefuls. Whee!

Why it matters: Scott is the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, whose job is to win back a GOP majority in the upper chamber. Republicans' prospects for winning back the Senate have been worsening over the course of the summer, according to polling and analysis.
Scott is already under fire for his management of the committee.
Vacationing in Europe while Republicans face cash problems and rough headlines about their midterm chances could further hurt his standing with his GOP colleagues.
....By the numbers: At the end of July, the NRSC reported just $23.2 million cash-on-hand. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee reported $54.1 million in its account, more than double the GOP amount.
"Weve spent more than $40 million on TV while the DSCC has spent $2 million dollars. If you spend money, you have less of it," Hartline told Axios.
Zoom out: If House Republicans coast to victory while Senate Republicans fail to pick up the one seat necessary to win a majority, Scott is poised to be the GOPs fall guy. It would be a rare setback for the Florida politician, who has beaten long odds before and boasts an undefeated record in his own campaigns.

With less than three months until the November elections, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee appears to be in a more formidable financial position, with $54.1 million cash on hand, well more than double the $23 million left in the National Republican Senatorial Committees account.
The NRSC reported about $8 million in fundraising in July.
The DSCCs $10 million total last month is down from the $12.5 million it raised in June, when, it said, there was a surge in donations after the Supreme Court struck down constitutional protections for abortion.
The fundraising figures were reported amid increasing questions over whether Republican can wrest control of the 50-50 Senate from Democrats in a midterm year that had been predicted to be favorable to them.
