We are currently working an active situation in Midtown. Preliminary information indicates three people have been shot. The shooter is not in custody and we have multiple officers in the area searching for the suspect.

Please advise residents to stay off of the streets in the midtown areas, specifically the areas between 12th St and Peachtree St NE and 15th St and W. Peachtree St NW.

We are working to gather information and will provide an update when available.

A woman suspected in a triple shooting that left two people dead and one injured in the heart of Midtown Atlanta was arrested Monday afternoon at the Atlanta airport.

The woman, who was not identified, was taken into custody a little more than two hours after shots were first fired at the 1280 West condominium building on West Peachtree Street, not far from Colony Square, Atlanta police said.

During a news conference after the arrest, police said the shooting was “not random” and the victims were specifically targeted. Officials did not say what motive led the suspect to shoot three people, but Channel 2 Action News reported that the woman lived in the building. It remained locked down at 6:30 p.m., the news station reported.

22. Victims, suspected shooter identified in deadly triple Midtown Atlanta shooting

ATLANTA, Ga. (CBS46) - Two men are dead and another person is in the hospital after a triple shooting Monday afternoon in Midtown Atlanta.

The shooting spree started at a condo complex on West Peachtree Street where two people were shot. Then, another person was shot a few blocks away on Peachtree.

Atlanta police, SWAT teams and K9s swarmed Peachtree Street near Colony Square after reports of an active shooter.

Witnesses and an integrated city camera system helped identify the suspect as Raissa Kengne. A surveillance shot from MARTA circulated and eventually led to Kengne being located and arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

23. Interesting case.Shooter is a black woman working a white collar job and lives in an upscale area.

Apparently she felt that her managers at her last job (Those killed) didn't listen to her complaints about fraud seriously enough. She accused them of breaking into her house and deleting files on a storage device in her safe. She tried to level a federal and criminal claim but her victims were cleared of wrongdoing. I guess she felt she needed to be the judge, jury and executioner.

Certainly doesn't fit the standard "mass shooter" mold, that's for sure. I wonder what more will come out of the investigation.
