Russia insists Ukrainian forces are behind the weekend death of a 29-year-old nationalist TV personality, Daria Dugina, who perished Saturday when her Toyota Land Cruiser exploded mysteriously while traveling in an affluent suburb of Moscow. According to Russia's state-run TASS, "a citizen of Ukraine identified as Natalia Vovk" was allegedly behind the apparent attack, and Russia's domestic spy service, the FSB, says she fled to Estonia afterward.
The FSB says a "remote-controlled" bomb detonated on Dugina's Land Cruiser, and shortly afterward the accused and her daughter crossed the border into Estonia. She allegedly drove a Mini Cooper with a license plate from "the Donetsk People's RepublicE982XH," before changing to Kazakh plates while in Moscow, and then to a Ukrainian license plate on the way out of Russia, TASS says.
Dugina was the daughter of a prominent Russian nationalist named Alexander Dugin, and some suspect the 60-year-old Dugin was the intended target of the apparent bombingsince he reportedly changed cars at the "last minute" ahead of the bombing Saturday, according to Russian newspaper Rossiiskaya Gazeta. The BBC reports Dugin is thought to be close to Russia's autocratic leader, Vladimir Putin; but exactly how close is uncleardespite breathless headlines and tweets claiming he is "Putin's brain" and "author of Putin's Ukraine strategy," and more.

Future Vertical Lift: Delivering Decision Dominance
The Bell V-280 Valor weapons system delivers flight-proven speed, range and endurance that will transform the US Army's aviation capabilities. Flying at over twice the speed and range as current weapons systems, the V-280 is the lowest-risk, highest reward FLRAA solution. Built to retain Army aviation's dominance in multi-domain operations, the V-280 puts the "long-range" in Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft.

A second opinion: "Dugin was never close to Putin," writes Alexander Graef of the Hamburg-based Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy. "He has never been an advisor. He literally knows people, who know people, who have heard about others, who have met Putin. He is an extravagant ideologue, whose mysticism and shrill style have made him an ideal figure to play the media." Other Russia-watchers, like historian Sergey Radchenko, point their finger at the FSB; but no one truly knows for certain just yet."

(4,158 posts)From Moscow to Tallinn, Estonia. Plenty of time to alert the border posts and prevent this purported suspect from leaving the country. It seems they identified this person from a passport found near the scene of the bombing. But, without that passport, how did she cross the border? Even flying would be a problem without a valid passport.
Heres whats more likely:
The bombing was orchestrated by Putin or FOP (friends of Putin) and the Russians planted the passport of one of the many Ukrainians who have been relocated to Russia from Ukraine during their invasion. Its also possible that this passport was stolen by Russian troops from one of the many buildings in Ukraine that they have looted.
Why would Putin want Dugina dead? Apparently she has been privately very critical of the conduct of the war in Ukraine. In addition, shes a public figure with a high profile so killing her makes her a cause celebre to increase Russian support for the war.
What about Putins relationship with her father? Putin is a sociopath, he only values people who can do something for him and Darya was more useful to him dead.
