A pair of notorious pro-life protesters posed as Planned Parenthood patients to harass a Brooklyn clinic worker in a live-streamed incident, with one shouting youre killing babies!, police said Friday.
The 28-year-old worker was targeted after the suspects slipped inside the building, claiming they had Thursday morning appointments, before one used her phones camera to loudly proclaim her anti-abortion stance around 9 a.m., cops said.
I rebuke this building in the name of Jesus! shouted protester Bevelyn Beatty as a half-dozen women sat silently in the waiting room. Abortion is murder! ... Do not kill your babies! This is wicked!

(9,213 posts)I got an injunction against the head of the local chapter of Operation Rescue to keep her from going on to Planned Parenthood grounds. When she violated it, I got her sentenced to 37 days for contempt. The original sentence had been 40 days, but the judge called me an hour later to tell me he had reduced it to 37 days because he didnt like the biblical connotations of the number 40.
While she was in jail she sent me a Christmas card with the festive message that it would be better to cast myself into the sea with a mill stone around my neck than to injure children.

(62,463 posts)that is some good gallows humor. Ironic as hell.
"but the judge called me an hour later to tell me he had reduced it to 37 days because he didnt like the biblical connotations of the number 40. " and the Christmas card with those lovely Christian wishes.

(9,213 posts)I thought he was going to let her off, but then he said hed just reduced it to 37 days. Maaaay I ask why, you honor? Thats when he gave me the reason.
He was a good judge, and a devout Catholic. She was a religious nut job, and I dont think he liked the 40 days in the wilderness comparison, but there was also the 40 days of rain, and Moses spending 40 days and nights on Mt. Sinai, 40 years in the desert and on and on.

(9,213 posts)because of religious overtones. We had established at the show cause hearing that 30 days in jail wasnt enough to deter her. I think the judge just wanted to get over 30 without giving her a number she could claim showed disdain for her religious beliefs. It worked. She didnt come back.

That's God in action. Why are there millions of sperm just to fertilize one ovum? That's God's design.

(12,410 posts)I was working the Democratic campaign office during the 7 to 11 shift in the evening and one night I was by myself while the other worker ran out for a burger. I was in the back room sorting through some stickers and pamphlets and heard a noise so I went to the front room to see if anyone had entered. Although it was dark outside I saw something weird on the windows and when I went outside I saw that someone had written Die You Baby Killers.
I called the police immediately because I was now a little creeped out. The owner of the building had the shops monitored with cameras and they saw two women running around and writing the graffiti, but nothing ever came of it.
I would urge anyone in that situation in this day and age to never work alone and certainly advertise that the building is being filmed and monitored.
