(9,670 posts)The part of this we can't see and may never see. He's truly a madman. He's deranged, thus his freakish appeal. He'd sell all of us out, the whole world, just to save his ass.
Charles Manson had a cult too.

(19,201 posts)I wonder how much Trump made for selling out our intelligence assets? 🤔

(33,148 posts)I'll say it anyway, "Not ANYMORE!" Even if in actuality those secrets weren't exposed, any responsible IC would act as if they were. It's the only prudent path.
Gee, nobody is talking about the billions and possibly trillions of $$$ it's going to cost to clear and re-establish these systems.

(5,477 posts)The very possibility that any of this has been revealed to anyone will have all of the various agencies scrambling to find out what may have been disclosed. In some instances simply exposing the existence of information also exposes the source of the information, if it has been deeply embedded.
For example, if it becomes known that the content of a conversation that took place in the back of a limo is known to one of the Three Letter Agencies, they now know that there may be a clandestine listening device planted in that vehicle. Likewise, there are bits of information that could have only come from specific individuals...a photo taken with a button or pen camera in an otherwise 'secure' meeting can let the adversary figure out who took it from the position and angle of the photo - "Oh, yeah - George was sitting at that end of the table."
It's going to take a lot of black-budget money to figure out, and mitigate, the potential damage from TFG's infantile stunt.
Reality Winner spent her time in jail for mishandling ONE document. Jonathan Pollard spent a LOT of time in jail for giving secrets to one of our allies. tRumplethinskin needs to have consequences, even if it is only having to pay the government the full amount it costs to mitigate the damage he created, which would hopefully cost him enough to put him into a cardboard box on the sidewalk outside of Merde-a-Loco.

In my personal opinion the response to this breach is far beyond the scale to be handled by the DOJ and courts. I seem to be alone in this, however.

(19,201 posts)We'll never know how much damage was done to our intelligence operations by the Big Orange Pig.
Our allies (if we still have allies who trust us) must be going crazy over this.
Trump will always be a festering boil on the ass of the United States until - and probably after - the day he dies. The damage he's done is incalculable. But 35% of the people in this country worship him like a god.

(24,504 posts)You bullshitted your way into the Presidency, partially by claiming Hillary Clinton had serious secrets on her personal server. Which was a mis classification issue..
And now the Government has real evidence of your espionage. Selling secrets that are worth real money to our adversaries.
No one believes the lies anymore. No more bluster about hoaxes, Don.
It's all true. he sold us out. That's my definition of Treason. And this DOJ will bring indictments and he will live in infamy....the worst President ever.

(19,984 posts)is on House Intelligence Committee. On The Last Word he suggested that if TFG would use millions of dollars in aid to Ukraine as leverage to get something out of Zelensky, wouldn't he also use highly classified information as leverage to get something else he wanted?
Of course he would.

They apparently assume he hasnt compromised the secrets too.
I hope they arent actually assuming any of this and are working behind the scenes secretly to learn much more than they can release to the public.
