Under oath?
Pence has shown some indication that he is ready to talk with the Committee. The former president has said nothing about talking with the Committee. He would not be expected to agree to such an invitation.
However, at this time, as a matter of public relations, it would look very badly for the former president by refusing to talk with the Committee. What is he trying to hide? Of course, most Americans already know what he is trying to hide. They only need it validated.
The purpose of the invitation would be to show the American people who is keeping information from them. If he was an innocent person, he would jump at the opportunity to clear up the information and to clear his name. But that is not going to happen.
It would be a PR win for the Committee, in my opinion.

(7,846 posts)Pence had to have known and said nothing.
There may be a couple dozen, several dozen or hundreds of involved people including the Secret Service.

(9,670 posts)And we all know that Trump's testimony would be blustery, nonsensical and useless.
In a sense, this is like a trial of DJT, and the accused seldom testifies under such circumstances.
I think we need to concentrate on all the players in Trumpworld who, distanced by time and evolving public opinion, may be willing to say things they would never have otherwise said in public to implicate Trump. The physical evidence in tandem with their testimony should be all that MG needs to indict.

(12,408 posts)Pence has had plenty of time to rise to the occasion...he will just be milk toast and try and get campaign recognition only....
tRump...he just wants the attention and to try and control every message.... A BIG NO...

(7,282 posts)he will not be inclined to evoke any level of responsibility and honesty about anything involving any incident Trump was linked to.
Whether or not it;s about denialism or dishonesty, Pence isn't inclined or capable to speak the absolute truth about any of Trumps Treasonous behavior, conversations, actions. etc.
I would say absolutely no to requesting his appearance.before the committee.
And besides, I should think Cheney would want to preserve whatever degree of veneer may remain or exist of a loyal and honest political leader Pence has presented himself to be, and she must be aware that he truly is a deeply unqualified dumbass she would not revealed because she will need to rely on his nae for political purposes as she pursues her political asperations to the White House in 2024.
