I would think that at least 10 Government agencies knew about missing docs before NARA. Saboburns Aug 2022 #3

audited what they first got from trump in early 2021 they suspected many docs were missing?

Here's a timeline.

It's known trump kept back many docs, which is why there were 3 times docs had to be seized from trump, the last time being the warrant and search earlier this month.

I am not an expert, I've been studying about document security and such the past couple of weeks trying to teach myself. And I have picked up a bit.

I could be wrong, but so far all we have been told is that NARA realized the documents were missing mid-2021 or so. Is that correct? I think that's all we've been told so far. Maybe someone knows better than I.

I have learned this though, the agency tasked with security and custodianship of top-secret papers is The Security Department of the Government Services Administration (GSA). So, I assume that the GSA would be the first agency know. But I don't know what happens after that.

I'm thinking that the GSA doesn't have investigatory authority outside certain government agencies. I would guess that the GSA would inform both the FBI and the DOJ of the problem, be the next 2 agencies to know, as these 2 would lead the investigation from there.

Maybe other Federal investigatory agencies are involved as well, Perhaps the Secret Service and US Marshalls are brought into the loop. But I have no idea one way or another.

I imagine the CIA would head up the investigation if it wandered to other nations.

Probably the NSA would be briefed.

I have no idea about State or local law enforcement involvement.

I think the Defense and Security Counterintelligence would know.

And who know what all agencies would be in the loop.

i guess the point is that NARA is way down the list when it comes to discovering that secret docs are missing.

for a long time trump was keeping many stolen docs.

Here's something else.

IMO the DOJ and FBI were being way to respectful of trump because he was a former president. They tried many times to get the docs and trump kept giving back some but keeping others. They finally ran out of patience and served the warrant earlier this month to get the rest. And now they still think he's kept others somewhere.

IMO he needs to be indicted. He's already commited crimes by stealing the docs, and then reluctantly giving some back piecemeal repeatedly. Lock him up.
