Fox News host Tucker Carlson went off the deep end last night on his show, suggesting that a farm that has been having legal problems with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) since 2016 would solve its problems if it put more chemicals in the milk that turn kids trans.
Carlson was doing a segment on Amish farmer Amos Millers legal issues, which started during the Obama administration and involve his sales of unpasteurized milk and uninspected meat and poultry. He owes over $300,000 in fines and isnt selling meat anymore due to his alleged violations of food safety laws.
Carlson was sympathetic to Miller, suggesting that theyre against anything thats wholesome and edifying and that makes you stronger and healthier, and are in favor of anything that diminishes you and makes you more dependent?
He said that the Biden administration is going after Miller because food without endocrine-disrupting chemicals must be eliminated immediately. He also cited the lack of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in Millers food as a reason the FDA and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) are going after the farm, even though the concept of GMOs is completely unrelated to the investigation.

(9,481 posts)About some chemicals that could mimic sex hormones that were being dumped by polluters that could affect development/sex determination if the animal was exposed at a particular stage in development. But I don't think they have much to do with sexual preference.
Of course, people like Alex Jones want to gut the Federal and State agencies responsible for detecting and regulating that pollution, and pass laws that would protect businesses from civil and class action lawsuits.

(65,048 posts)There are alkyl phenols that are known to be estrogen mimics.
The size of the alkyl chain matters, unfortunately the 8 & 9 carbon chains are very commonly used in film forming production. So, there's plenty in the environment before the rules got much, much stricter.
They were not, however, the result of dumping. For a few decades, the scientific consensus was they were not harmful in the short term before biodegradation. The biodegrability curve is now known to flatten much sooner than originally believed, and the accumulation in aquifers happened to far greater degree than expected.
This situation was not a matter of willful neglect & unlawful pollution.
Was there some dumping by unscrupulous producers? Most likely, yes. But, that is a tiny piece of what created this problem. The vast majority was caused by responsible users following what we now know was overly optimistic guidance.
And, you're right; it has nothing to do with preference.

And it was the 90's when I first heard about this - so maybe the situation when it comes to dioxins has improved since then.

(65,048 posts)Dioxins can cause negative effects on hormone production, but I've never heard them being an estrogen mimics. I know what alkyl phenols do to aquatic life forms. Not sure if dioxin is similar or a completely different mechanism.
With regard to Dioxins, I do concur that lots of the environmental issues were the result of inadequate attention and, worse, willful disregard.
Except for their low combustion risk, nobody ever thought dioxins were safe.
Completely different for..
There's no doubt that dioxin contamination was a total disregard of the environment.

The "raw milk" sales people make all sorts of claims, that they never do back up with evidence.
Meanwhile every year adults and children DIE from diseases in raw milk.

You know, I recall when the beef industry actually sued Oprah after what she said when she decided to give up meat. I'd love to see the dairy industry so the same thing to Fucker "No Neck" Cuckerson.
No, Cucker. Milk isn't turning people transgender. And maybe you ought to just shut the fuck up and stay in your lane and focus on your own life, and stay the fuck out of mine, you neckless, empty-headed Nazi.
That said... "Fox News host Tucker Carlson went off the deep"? That implies he hadn't already gone off the deep end - permanently - before this latest insane rant.
