Russia burning off $10m of gas a day at LNG plant

The analysis by Rystad Energy indicates that around 4.34 million cubic metres of gas are being burned by the flare every day.

It is coming from a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant at Portovaya, north-west of St Petersburg.

1. Putin doing this on purpose? He thinks Europe will give in to him next winter.

He wants to make Europe suffer with energy shortages next winter.
In hopes they will force Zelensky to surrender.

Rubbing it in that Russia has plenty of energy reserves while Europe is struggling with the result of the sanctions.
Going to throw away what they wish they had.

Also polluting the arctic and make climate change worse.

Punishing Europe for not supporting him.

I think Putin is pulling stunts along these lines with the fighting around nuclear plants in Ukraine.
