From Page 8 of the affidavit

"Of most significant concern was that highly classified records were unfoldered, intermixed with other records, and otherwise unproperly [sic] identified."

Captain Sloppy was digging through those files, mixing things up, misfiling them. Maybe looking for something to sell to the Saudis or Russians. Maybe looking for something to blackmail the "Deep State" with if they started coming after him. Our only hope is that, because he can't read too good, he wasn't able to understand what he was digging through

I'm sure there's more around there who are better at avoiding capture.

The affidavit mentions the documents having Trump's handwritten notes. My guess is that he will argue that anything he wrote on belonged to him and was his to take.

It's a stupid argument, but then again, he's a very stupid man.

Then it is just an "accident."

I am sure Putin gave Trump his marching orders.

This was just junior high school level "hide the porn/comic book inside your notebook to make it look like you're studying" crap. I'm sure he thought he was pulling one over on us by taco-ing those documents out of the White House, and he figured that the chaos of waiting until the last minute to pack would provide him cover. I have no doubt he was planning to sell that stuff to the highest bidder.

And, for extortion purposes. I'm sure he has sold off some of them already, or his son-in-law has, anyway.

he purposely did that to hide them. Thoss types of documents have numbered pages. I think the FBI/DOJ knew he still had some because when the FBI was trying to reassemble them, they discovered pages missing.

All he had to do is have someone tell him what areas were needed. All he needed to do was request files in that area with a classification high enough to sell to MbS.

He may not have a damn clue who else looked at them. That place isn't Fort Knox.
