And yet, they're deeper in debt than when they started. The student loan program, like health care, really shouldn't be profit centers. For all the enrichment of the loan sharks, we could have a far more prosperous populace unburdened by unreasonable debt that keeps ballooning on them should they suffer a reversal of fortune.
