Well, another judge gives Trump what he wants!

Federal Judge Aileen Cannon has announced a ‘preliminary intent’ that will allow Trump to have his special master to mediate the findings of top secret papers at his dump. Judge Cannon was appointed by Trump after he lost the 2020 election! Like Glen Kirshner stated “something smells in Denmark”. He went to say that Judge Cannon ruled on this even before she heard from the DOJ! I am just guessing that someone got to her and pushed her to give a ruling before it was to have been done? Let’s hope if it’s going to happen, she doesn’t appoint one of Trump’s wackies?

and has given the government the right to file a brief in opposition the motion by 1/30. I think you might have misunderstood what Kirchner said, because there has been no ruling. Here is the order. https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.flsd.618763/gov.uscourts.flsd.618763.29.0.pdf It helps to read these things before jumping to conclusions about them. The "preliminary intent" only means that the request is not being dismissed out of hand. The government will be able to argue the fact that they are already conducting a privilege review, which is basically what a special master would do, and will present a list of seized materials under seal. No need for anybody to get their panties in a twist; nothing else has happened and it's possible nothing will happen. And Andrew Weissman thinks TFG may have stepped on a rake by making the motion:

I would also point out that Trump-appointed judges ruled against him in all of the election "fraud" cases they heard.

since the FBI has a privilege review panel separate from its investigators that will do exactly the same thing - and has probably even finished by now.
