This is truly EPIC

As soon as Monday, the most powerful rocket the space agency has ever built will sling an uncrewed space capsule on a record 42-day journey around the moon and back.
The maiden launch of the Space Launch System rocket and the Orion space capsule, designated the Artemis I mission, is a make-or-break trial for NASAs goal of building a permanent presence on the lunar surface.
A base on the moon will also be truly epic, and from there, onto Mars and from Mars, we can begin our exploration of the ENTIRE UNIVERSE.

(6,917 posts)It made me think about the vastness of the universe. What is the limit? Perhaps we can only take baby stepsone human lifetime in its primeat a time.
We cant design a rocket that will outlive its astronauts. Or, we can, but itd be useless unless the rocket can contain species-bearing mothers and babies.
Im leaning toward space exploration that doesnt involve carrying a live human. Seriously, what if Christopher Columbus had discovered an airless and dead sand continent instead of the Caribbean? Hed just blow it off as useless for human habitation.
Landing humans on the Moon is a great achievement, I just cant understand how populating the moon planet can proceed from there.
