By letting an agent of a foreign government have access to secret documents at Mar-a-Logo, effectively renting him or her access to one of several places documents were later found, Trump could deny selling documents or government information and it would eliminate the need (and danger) of transferring the information on his own or through one of his associates.
Then, if discovered, he could say, "It's not my fault! We simply had X clean our bedroom closet (or wherever). How was I supposed to know he was Putin's agent?" (And remember, Trump is always looking for an out or a fall-guy when committing illegal acts.)
This might not be a grand revelation, but if true might lead the FBI to fruitful avenues of investigation. (But then, they've probably already considered this possibility.)

(19,359 posts)It fits Trump to a "T."
1. He is not responsible for the physical transfer of information which could be both difficult and hazardous.
and
2. If FBI/CIA discovers the information that was in his possession has been successfully passed to a foreign government, or even discover it in transit, he can claim that it was unintentional, that a foreign agent posed as a cleaning person or whatever.
This is pure Trump, 100% prime!

(19,359 posts)Would Trump be stupid enough to let a foreign agent have access to a room or even hall which he knew was being recorded?
Would he even go in himself and make notes or take photos?
Would he be that stupid?
Or did he think he could keep the videos out of the FBI's hands?
Or were the surveillance cameras unknown to Trump?
Or. . . Or. . . Or . . .?????
