9. It can be difficult to understand if you don't understand the mindset.

Trump is experiencing the consequences of his behavior. His choices and actions are finally bearing the appropriate responses for someone so criminal and corrupt (within the framework of a supposedly just society).

For certain religious people however, all good is because of submission to god and all bad is from NOT submitting to god. It doesn't typically make sense to people who operate on logical constructs. Trump, when they thought he was powerful and spouting his bullshit about "Christian" this and that... was promoting their cause, so naturally, like Saul, Cyrus, and other Biblical miscreants who "turned good" Trump was considered their "flawed hero". Well, now that they see Trump failing, well he must have run afoul of god. It can't be that he was always corrupt and therefore destined to eventually fail, especially has he took the job that is powerful, but also under the LARGEST MOST POWERFUL microscope in the world. He could have just sailed on being a petty crook, outrunning his debtors till he died, but he got super greedy and thought that he could just be president forever. He severely damaged the system, but it didn't break and he got caught out being who he is.

Religious people can't understand that what they consider "god's plan" is likely the accumulation of everyone's choices and actions. They choose to believe that some supposedly omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent being has some sort of plan that involves making that being's supposedly favored creation suffer based upon that secret plan.
