Lindsey Graham's vile 'riots' threat gives away Trump's game

Lindsey Graham's threat of "riots" is disgusting. But let's not overlook his other trope: That it would be unfair to prosecute Trump because Hillary was not prosecuted. That's a demand for absolute impunity for Trump *regardless of what the facts show.*

Opinion | Lindsey Graham’s vile ‘riots’ threat gives away Trump’s game
Underlying the threat of political violence is a bigger and more pernicious Trump scam.

So the argument is this: Clinton was not prosecuted, therefore prosecuting Trump would constitute unequal treatment before the law. (Another variation holds that not only should Trump be spared prosecution; Clinton was not prosecuted but should have been.)

We can’t let this go unchallenged. It contains a sleight of hand that will become more widespread.

As you’ll recall, former FBI director James Comey announced in July 2016 that an exhaustive investigation had failed to produce evidence to make a criminal case against Clinton. The Justice Department inspector general subsequently found no grounds for questioning that decision.

In other words, Clinton was not charged because the facts did not merit it. We don’t yet know whether Trump will be criminally charged. But if the Justice Department decides in this case that the facts do merit charges — which of course should be the foundation of any determination to charge — the disparity in charging decisions cannot by itself constitute unequal treatment.

Indeed, in both cases, the facts would be dictating the outcome. That may seem obvious on its face. But it’s precisely the point that Trump and propagandists like Graham want to obfuscate.
Let’s be clear: Their argument, effectively, is that equal treatment constitutes refraining from prosecuting Trump regardless of whether investigators conclude that the facts add up to evidence of crimes that investigators believe would sustain a conviction!

One is that she switched from Republican to Democrat when she was in college. To them, she is a traitor.

The other is that she was on the legal team that investigated Nixon over Watergate and reported findings to the committee that eventually began drawing up articles of impeachment.

And to top it off, she married a Dem who became a 2 term president, making her First Lady for 8 years.

These are the reasons that they have mercilessly villified her. No way were they going to let her become president as long as they could find a way to stop her. She cost them one of their presidents.

Their witch hunts against him and Hillary started when it started becoming apparent that he was going to limit Bush to one term--if not before that. Being married to him just exacerbated their vilifying her.

..including the Secret Service, the Defense Dept, the Homeland Security IG, Ivanka, and numerous others. Except they deleted for likely nefarious reasons.

Although they do not point out there were no Top Secret emails on Hillary's server. There were a half dozen or so that were classified as "Confidential" after they had been written.

But there is no comparison at all between that and stealing classified documents and taking them home with you. It is my understanding that a Top Secret document cannot be put on an email?

It is apples and peanuts.

But that's what the GOP and the media is about to pursue, but her emails....

Hillary had 3 emails mismarked secret, then the FBI said about 100 more of them should be classified after the fact. She had them on a private email server while she was SoS with the highest security clearance possible. Hillary didn't steal anything, and she had every right to view any and all classified material. What she did was violate policy.

The biggest distinction here is with Hillary, she was working for the government. Trump is a private citizen and has been since 1/20/21, he has no right to possess or view classified materials.

Trump’s recent message to AG Garland comes into sharper focus
Team Trump made a curious admission, acknowledging a highly provocative message the former president had delivered to the attorney general.
https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/trumps-recent-message-ag-garland-comes-sharper-focus-rcna44762

“President Trump wants the Attorney General to know that he has been hearing from people all over the country about the raid. If there was one word to describe their mood, it is ‘angry.’ The heat is building up. The pressure is building up. Whatever I can do to take the heat down, to bring the pressure down, just let us know.”

So you are under investigation for inciting an insurrection on Jan 6th

... and you do the above ??

Trump has no decent legal team around him.

The things he's saying on Truth Social or in interviews can and will be used against him in a court of law.

Ugly stuff. But we're getting closer to his political end.

This unhinged behavior will accelerate his demise.

Whatever kompromat Traitor Tot has on LG, it must be huuuuge.

Several years ago, a guy called into a progressive radio show I was listening to and said he once delivered a pizza to Lindsey Graham's house. LG answered the door wearing a bathrobe and he noticed another man in the room was wearing one as well. The pizza guy says to LG, say, aren't you in the Senate? LG said, "Yes, my name is Bernie Sanders." What a jerkhole!

An internet friend made the completely and obviously mocking claim that if Trump is arrested then Jesus will FINALLY make his return.

And darn it, you just know that some of his followers ("his" could mean either Jesus or Trump but more likely both) might actually glom onto that idea.

Billions of people have been waiting around for a couple of thousands years and many people have suffered or inflicted suffering on others while waiting for Christianity's grand promise. And you just betcha that Trump's pride will be just the thing to get him to saddle up that white horse.

Revelation 19:11

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And he who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.

It's very stirring stuff. And if Trump had any idea that it was all written about him, I bet he would have actually read it.
