70 Days Until Midterm Election Day! Upcoming Primaries and Deadlines

September 6:
Massachusetts primaries

September 7:
New Hampshire: primaries registration deadline
President Biden unveils President Obama portrait at the White House

September 13:
Delaware, New Hampshire, Rhode Island primaries
Primary season ends (except Louisiana)

Begin General Election Season

IMPORTANT: it’s crucial that everyone read well ahead on these dates, as there are many “received-by” dates that could be missed if one waits until the last minute. For example, in Louisiana the absentee ballot request deadline is only 3 days before the absentee ballot deadline, so one has to mail something in TWICE in the last week before Election Day. I would advise starting the process at least two weeks before the deadlines. Remember, we’re dealing with DeJoy’s postal system!

September 23:
Minnesota, Wyoming: in-person absentee voting begins
South Dakota: in-person absentee voting begins (dates and times vary by location; call your local elections office)

September 24:
Louisiana, Vermont: in-person absentee voting begins

September 27:
Missouri: in-person absentee voting begins

September 29:
Illinois: early voting available at Election Authority Office
New Hampshire: “Voter registration deadlines vary by locality. Contact your Town Clerk.”
North Dakota: “Early voting dates vary by county. Contact your local elections office.”
Pennsylvania: “In-person absentee voting available. Contact your local elections office for dates and times.”
Virginia: “In-person absentee voting available. Contact your local elections office for dates and times.”

Voter Registration
In Person: Received 30 days before Election Day. If that day is a weekend or national holiday, then must be received by the next business day.
By Mail: Postmarked by 30 days before Election Day. If that day is a weekend or national holiday, then must be postmarked by the next business day.
Online: N/A

Voter look up available at your county's election website.

TX Sec State is always behind by a week or more on registration data.

Requesting Vote by Mail ballot:

For the Nov 8, 2022 Election, the last day your ABBM can be received by your Early Voting Clerk is Friday, Oct 28, 2022. Request it early!! Mail is iffy. If you get your ballot and it is too late to mail it, take it with you to the polls and you will be allowed to vote there.

At the moment, I'm posting deadlines one month ahead. As the primary season ends, I'll be posting the full schedule.
