Dinesh DSouzas Election Denial Book Suddenly Delayed Over Significant Error

Far-right conspiracy theorist Dinesh DSouzas book version of his largely debunked election-denial film 2000 Mules was suddenly recalled by the publisher on the eve of its release date over what DSouza has described as a significant error.
Originally set to hit store shelves on August 30, 2000 Mules was abruptly subjected to a full recall from outlets earlier this week. Freelance reporter Nancy Levine first reported that a book vendor informed Walmart that the title needs to be pulled out of stores immediately due to orders from the publisher.
Levine later told Newsweek that she received the screenshot of 2000 Mules recall from a high school friend who works for a book distribution company and became aware of the delay from their work with Walmart.
Due to a publishing error, the publication date of 2000 Mules has been postponed to October 25, 2022. We look forward to publishing 2000 Mules by Dinesh DSouza this fall, Regnery tweeted on Monday evening. The company did not immediately respond when asked for comment about the error behind the recall.

(17,865 posts)Can it be the basis for a libel lawsuit? I mean if one college employee handed out a couple of flyers saying a business profiled African Americans is worth $20M+, what will the lies (if there are actionable ones in it) in this book be worth?

(58,785 posts)This isn't an ethical publishing company. Far from. They specialize in RW slimedog authors, or as they style their product, "conservative books for independent thinkers." I think this may be the fourth D'Souza book they've published.

(1,792 posts)They really hate it, too. Apparently through their "sources and methods", the NYT found out years ago that the right-wing "think" tanks and "nonprofits" were doing massive bulk buys and then giving these nutjob books away at their rubber-chicken fundraisers. The conservative book clubs were also buying them up for pennies on the dollar and giving them away with memberships. Anything that they couldn't unload went to the dollar stores or got shredded. That massively inflates the actual grassroots sales of these kinds of books. Don Jr was involved in a particularly egregious bulk buy scam for his latest book as I recall.

(68,714 posts)liar. Of course, his book which is undoubtedly a pack of lies and a defamation suit waiting to happen has been recalled. Good riddance.

(182,945 posts)The whole thing is just to get money out of the stooges pockets. The premise is that tracking software shows that people who at least drove by a Dem campaign office also drove near a ballot drop box. If your commute or often errand path satisfies those criteria OBVIOUSLY you are a mule. on that last line.
