(241 posts)A lot of this could have been avoided if enough of us had turned out and voted. Straight Democratic the last few election cycles. As it stands a minority of extreme conservatives have more power than the majority.

(37,161 posts)In my experience going back more than 30 years, almost all of the "they'll never actually do it, it's too useful for fundraising/vote-getting" talk has come from the centrists, not from the lefties.
Anecdotal to be sure, but so is what forms your opinion.
