(10,207 posts)Especially since they have been negotiating with the Trumps for almost a year to get it back. People around Trump probably copied it all as soon as they were asked for it back.

I can't think of any scenario in which this material has not been copied and transferred in the 19 months they have been lying around the golf club. Even a "low level" employee at this place would have had opportunity to do so.

(14,837 posts)TS/SCI docs are NEVER allowed on unsecured networks or storage devices. Even paper copies are highly restricted, though obviously not well enough.
But nobody could have walked out of a scif with docs on a usb key that tfg could access once he left office; nor could they be copied unencrypted.
Paper was just his only choice. He may have been too lazy to have them scanned or saw no need.
