(4,148 posts)is to try this case in the court of public opinion. They stand zero chance in an actual courtroom so their only hope is to make the prospect of indicting Trump and trying him in court so unappealing that DOJ wont do it.
Personally, I think they are nuts. Trumps only hope is to make a deal on lesser charges.

(182,876 posts)She seems to be saying that because he WAS President and this involves records, hes covered.
Uh
Specifically, the Presidential Records Act:
Defines and states public ownership of the records.
Places the responsibility for the custody and management of incumbent presidential records with the President.
Establishes that Presidential records automatically transfer into the legal custody of the Archivist as soon as the President leaves office. [5]

Sorry, the two words in the dictionary that do not go together is 'Espionage' and 'Mundane'.
These attorneys are as bad as the Former Guy.

I never did understand why they were given the death penalty, especially since they had two young kids. The other couple involved were sentenced to 15 years of which the husband served 9 and the wife none. I think they would have been more valuable to the country alive rather than dead. Trump, on the other hand... Nevermind.
