Trump with a 34% Favorable rating and a 57% Unfavorable rating, which seems much more in line with my perceptions of the political reality.

34% and trending down.

Those numbers strain credulity in my estimation.

A 40% approval rating for TFG seems significantly "off" to me.

Until I'm convinced otherwise I will regard that YouGov poll as an outlier.

Corporations, in the main, exist to return shareholder value to their investors.

Since the economy is generally more robust during Democratic presidencies than Republican ones, and more profits are realized by corporations, it tends to be in the interest of corporations to have Democratic administrations in power.

In the real world, corporations are not monolithic, and are populated (and owned) by both liberal and conservatives.

across the board for political offices and backed liberal causes in their editorial policies.

The NY Times endorsed JFK in 1960, LBJ in 64, HHH in 68, McGovern in 72, Carter in 80, Mondale in 84, Dukakis in 88, Clinton in 92 and 96, Gore in 2000, Kerry in 04, Obama in 08 and 12, HRC in 16, and Biden in 2020. Do you have a problem with that?, because I sure don't.

The premise that "corporate" necessarily equals "conservative" is false.

think very hard about it.

It's like religion -- how many religious people you know believe/practice whatever religion because of sophisticated religious apologetics? Probably very few. Probably most don't even know about the nitty gritty details of the apologetics employed by their clerics when arguing with each other. So it is with politics. MAGAts start with the premise that TFG is good and anyone opposed to him is bad, and so they don't have to think real hard about how/why any evidence presented against him is illegitimate, they know automatically and deep in their bones that it is so. Very little effort, very little distress. Evidence against the Dear Leader? Nope. Fake news. Deep state. Whatever. Moving on...

...are numerous.
Principally, it was 40% 2 years ago, before January 6 (which we know turned some independents off) & before the document issue.
On top of that, rally attendance, ratings for TFG's Newsmax appearances, and cash flow are all down.
It's not logical to conclude that the 40% value remains unchanged.
If a poll provides a result that is illogical it is more likely to be flawed than it is an indication that all other indicators are in error.

I'm sticking to it. The result is illogical.
When there was essentially a binary choice in 2020, TFG only got 47% of the vote.
And the cult turned out to vote in huge proportion. (About 68% of eligible voters did so.)
68% of 47% is 32%. That's if EVERY TFG voter still supports him, & we know that's not the case.
Any poll result that cannot logically square with other knowns is fairly considered suspect.
I simply do not believe those results. I believe there is flawed methodology.
