That is to say they knowingly read documents which make clear on their cover sheet is is a federal crime for unauthorized people to do so.

I do not assume as the MSM has done that there is any innocent exposure, or accidental reading going on, nor that Trump had only egotistical motivation. We know already that any number of his lawyers have lied repeatedly about what they saw, found, and turned over. Consider for a moment what Roger Stone and Mike Flynn have certainly done with what they've seen, and for whom they did it.

Cohen has said that we should expect to find copies as well as original documents in any Trump residence, anywhere, as well as in the homes of his family members. IMO they all were in on it one way or another. The family that grifts together and all that.

Cohen has also said that Trump likely did this throughout the time he had any access to such documents. He also suggested that this was more than blackmail or insurance against prosecution. I read his and other remarks which say that Trump was selling them to the Saudi Prince, Putin and his agents, and anyone else he could flog them to including very rich GOP patrons. To say nothing of what he revealed to the GOP leadership who curried his favor, who were looking for inside info for themselves and their political patrons.

I think his reasons for stealing them were twofold: first, as a malignant narcissist, he had a need to retaliate against the "deep state" that was against him and rigged an election (in his mind); the second was as leverage to stay out of prison.

As to who had seen them, we honestly don't know. Likely his Russian buddies won't appear on the guest list at Mara Lardo.

After 18 months of his taking them out to play with, I think it has to be assumed that the contents have been photocopied by foreign spies, probably with his permission. They need to prepare for the worst but hope he was too stupid to know what the really dangerous stuff was.
