(37,162 posts)Any time I've encountered someone like that, their liberalism always seems to be something they absorbed from their surroundings, not something rooted in principles. Lacking an anchor, a good scare can flip them entirely: making them susceptible to recruitment plus more inclined to bear resentment against their former companions.
Voight has struck me as the epitome of such a person.
