Marjorie Taylor Greene compares Biden to Hitler on Twitter

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene invoked Hitler when tweeting about President Biden’s speech Thursday night.
Biden painted “MAGA Republicans” as a threat to democracy. Greene characterized Biden’s speech as having declared “war on half of America as enemies of the state.” She posted a doctored video featuring the president with a small mustache standing at a podium with swastikas behind him, and dubbed with a recording of what sounds like Hitler addressing a cheering crowd.

Greene, a Georgia Republican, is a far-right conspiracy theorist who has promoted the baseless idea that the 2020 election was stolen from former President Donald Trump. She’s been accused of being an encouraging rioters in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, and has a history of making antisemitic statements.

Biden, in his speech in Pennsylvania, said “MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards,” a reference to Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan. “The Republican party today is dominated, driven and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans, and that is a threat to this country.”

The American Jewish Committee released a statement condemning Greene’s tweet. AJC tweeted that Greene “continues to trivialize the Nazis and use Holocaust imagery for political gain. This doctored video is vile, offensive and completely unbecoming for a member of Congress. House Republican leaders must condemn her conduct.” AJC has called on Greene to repudiate past remarks as well.

... Twitter, to see the response to Biden's speech. I don't go to the "MAGAsites" - but a Twitter trending search will bring up enough to see what they're saying. I was surprised at all the Hitler imagery... probably, I shouldn't have been... many posts are "hidden" as offensive, but they are visible with one "click" and, honestly, the warning probably makes them MORE viewed. They have turned Biden into a worse monster than Obama or Hillary. I can't even imagine what it must be like on their social media sites...

They desperately need that to be true. Greene's defensive attack doesn't try to claim they're a majority, and growing evidence shows they're not even close to half.

Their neighbors are increasingly seeing them as a grave danger to freedom and democracy -- and not the principled true Americans they know themselves to be. Most won't be able to understand why this is happening.
