"Joe Biden's speech was divisive, a threat to democracy, an invitation to violence, and an insult to patriotic Americans who love their country."And so say all of the people who plotted, enabled, participated in, and ultimately defended Trump's attempt to overthrow the government they now claim to be so enamoured of.
One can only surmise how many Republicans listened to Biden's speech and muttered, "If only the coup had succeeded, we wouldn't have to put up with this protect democracy bullshit."
But it didn't - and they do.

(6,917 posts)Brandon hardly backfired as much as the Biden worldhis creative world beyond paid peopleneutralized it.
The Biden team repositioned, in marketing parlance, the word Brandon from a negative to something else. Moron Republicans lost control of the word when they gave it to other morons to use and soon every toothless mouth breather was condescending to the POTUS by calling him Brandon. Then, DARK Brandon emerged
Ironically, a gigantic branding failure for the GOP.

(31,027 posts)Their tactic has always been to get a word or a catchphrase that expresses their hatred and repeat it. I think that tactic may be wearing a little thin as people are tired of it and much quicker to react. Branding failure. I just got it

(21,349 posts)a 2 hour call to arms speech in Pa. yesterday and we still treat Trump with kid gloves.
We scoffed when Trump said he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and no one would care. There is a case to be made that Trump was responsible for deaths of our foreign agents, there are still missing top secret documents, possibly military-related nuclear documents. Time is of the essence to stop Trump and the insurrection and yet we are going to have a time out until after the election, we have to give Magats an equal chance of being elected.
The longer we wait, the harder it will get. Fox News, CNN, and most of MSNBC will push the Magat narrative. Did I mention, the insurrection continues and is growing not slowing?
