(14,150 posts).... big ass gas guzzling Hummer,... loading his machine gun with Teflon coated bullets to add the baby elephant's head to his trophy wall - for macho man bragging rights.
Mama elephant knows a Nazi when she sees one. And was wise to encourage her baby offspring to steer clear of the bang-bang-bang Fascist gun humper cocaine addict. Who's main recreational pursuit includes gunning down and killing anything that moves - while using his arsenal of expensive hunting wild game rifles.

It is a charming video, though.

(65,044 posts)I just found "tiny elephant" funny.
I'd probably find "huge microbe" equally so if I saw it in a title.

(304 posts)Mama!! I've become an even bigger fan of elephants than I was before after reading a book called "Elephant Company" about a British timber man in Burma in the early twentieth century. He developed such reverence for them and learned all he could, becoming a camp manager and caring for the elephants himself. Can't think of the author's name, but it's amazing.
The reason standing elephants constantly shift their weight from one side to the other is that it reduces the strain on their hearts. It's too hard to keep pumping blood back up to the heart unless the pressure of regular foot-plants on the ground push blood back up. Also, they communicate with each other subsonically, sending waves humans can't hear but if humans are near enough they can feel the air compression waves in their own bodies.
