Republicans are not going to want her, and we democrats have some strong grievances against her I know I do she celebrated the end Roe. She voted in lock step with trump 93% of the time.

Liz Chaney is no hero, she's just a broken clock that was right twice.

That our right to choose when we put our life on the line is taken away, by people she helped put on the supreme Court.

I can acknowledge that she did a few good things, she voted to impeach trump, and she has been doing an incredible job on the January 6th committee.

But at the end of the day she's still not someone I would want to play with on the playground.

Because no matter how bad Donald Trump is now and how criminal he is, it's actually all the policies that got passed that she helped to get past that are the reason why we're going through such turmoil now.

And everything Donald Trump did, putting supreme Court justices that would take away roe v wade, those Trump tax cuts for the wealthy. Those are things that Republicans have been championing for for decades. And she had no problem with that.

I’m okay with Liz Cheney - SOME of the time. A LITTLE some-of-the-time.

14. Democracy
Sun Sep 4, 2022, 02:09 PM
Sep 2022

For a democracy to exist there must be at least two parties committed to the democratic process. When the corporate twenty percent of the Republican party realized that they couldn't win without Trump, decided against a brokered convention, and turned their party over to the authoritarian eighty percent of their party, they put their party before their country and walked democracy to the edge of the cliff. Until the corporate twenty percent of the Republican party can take back control of their party, or start a viable third party committed to democracy, democracy in the US will stand at the edge of the cliff, in danger of dying because the authoritarian Republicans are willing to end democracy if they are not in control.

She has put Democracy above party and politics, been an extraordinary voice against Trump, MAGA and what they stand for. And she challenges the rest of the Republicans to follow suit.

I don't give two shits about her political convictions; at the end of the day, she stands for Democracy, which is what the country needs at the moment.

The Medal of Freedom "..is meant to recognize those who have made an “especially meritorious contribution” to national security, world peace or ”cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.”

Trump awarded the Medal to Rush Limbaugh and Gym Jordan...WTF?

Depends on how badly court cases go, but eventually McConnell and the other mainstream republicans will not be able to hold their noses and give him free rein over their party. Then they'll have to craft a way to make him so unpopular the barstool republicans will come back to papa. No mean task at this point.

Right now, if the GOP oversteps their bounds with Trump, his ego will have him starting his own party. You might think 90% of republicans would vote for him again, but be assured he isn't that popular among other pols. They want their party back.

This is a problem they created themselves. Now the monster is loose and wreaking havoc in the village.

If he loses in 2024... his base can be converted to the next guy and they haven't lost any votes.

It's foolish for the GOP to run against Trump in 24.

When Trump loses in 24... he will fade away.

You voted with tRump about 93% of the time. You knew what he was from the BEGINNING.

So you're to blame for letting run amok with our democracy.

You ONLY acted after Congress was attacked. Yeah. Well. That's a very low bar.

The entire Republican Agenda is Toxic, Vile, and Fascist.

Many GOP women are prochoice but never thought Roe would be overturned. That was the start for them. For others, Jan 6th. For others, kissing Putin's ass.
Whatever it was, the more who change the better.
At this point, IMO, defeating the trump cancer is more important than any other single issue.
