Isn't it "corrupt" to appoint a judge to the federal bench and then expect that judge to rule in your own favor whenever something comes up to your benefit? And if a judge has integrity, and respects and believes in the law, wouldn't they recuse themselves from ruling on behalf of someone who appointed them?
Remind me again how judges can be impeached and removed? And please don't whine about how impeaching this judge would be political, because it is not.

(7,839 posts)direct real judicial bias, or more, frequently, an Appearance of bias, to the common person.
All federal judges are appointees of Congress, not the President, who submits a name.
If a federal judge had to recuse themselves every time a political issue involving whoever nominated them is at issue, not a lot of rulings ever happen! Depends ofc a lot on what is the issue?
SCOUTUS in example weighs in on political stuff all the time
see Gore.
But this judge cannonball is showing a bias after the fact by her ludicrous reasoning and decision, so yes, corrupt, but not before the fact.

(8,348 posts)Under Article 2 of the Constitution, the President Nominates. The Senate does not appoint, they can give advice and must grant consent to those chosen, but they do not appoint.
and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments.
