Even when they went there in March, they knew he was holding back all these Top Secret documents and they let him keep them because they were waiting for him to sell them and get on tape.

They have probably already told him he can't leave the country, and probably have all his communication lines tapped, and bugs all over Mar-a-lago. Anything else he does at this point is just icing on the cake for them, if they can get more hard evidence in real time.

The only sourcing is to a “person familiar with the search and seizure of the documents”. That could be one of Trump’s crazy lawyers, one of his kids, or Trump himself.
