Are people yet talking about Dems for 2024?

Of course there's talk, pro and con about Biden, but I was surprised to here Newsom mentioned in a context where it sounded like he was, of course, a possibility. I haven't heard about possibilities being discussed outside of that incident. Am I missing a hot topic?

I don't see another candidate coming up in such short amount of time and plus Biden says he is going to run in 2024. I will take him at his word. I like Newsome but he is Governor of a +30 Democratic state, he is untested candidate in the general election arena.

so divisive speculation about to will head our ticket in 2024 is not fruitful, especially as it is abundantly clear our nominee will be President Joe Biden.

three Democratic governors who look really good to me. Newsom, JB Pritzker and Gretchen Whitmer.

in a general anyway. The incumbent has a great advantage. We need to keep the GOP out of power as long as possible

He said this around December, and he seems to be in the same good health now as then. If he stays well, my guess is that he officially announces that he's running for re-election in February. Just a guess, he might wait a little later.

that's primarily what we'll be talking about. But for the moment, the election in November is the only election that matters bc the results will shape everything going forward.
