They may have been swayed because it was a woman being nominated. WAKE UP, staffers.

There is no excuse for this.

I had posted info about it here - https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=17132918

There were 23 "Not Voting" for that roll call.

Roll call - https://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_votes/vote1162/vote_116_2_00228.htm

There were a couple other judicial votes that November, one for the Northern District of OH (62-23, confirmed 2 days before), and a Judge for the District Court of KS was confirmed 5 days later 50-43 with 1 (D) "Yea" which was Manchin, and a handful had cloture votes (for a simple majority - again in November). Most of the judicial nominee confirmations around that time were done before the election.

there may have been some "diversity" intent.

The "confirmation hearing" (in quotes because it was "virtual" ) resulted in only one Democrat on the Committee even asking questions, and in this case, that Democrat was one of my Senate faves, Mazie Hirono, and she asked what she considers her two standard questions to nominees.

There's a video of those questions here - https://www.mediaite.com/news/watch-trump-appointed-judge-who-ordered-mar-a-lago-special-master-was-only-asked-two-questions-at-confirmation-hearing/
