Charlie Crist questioned on The View today about switching parties

I am very skeptical of these people who change parties and positions.

I’ve known @CharlieCrist decades. Was disappointed w/him as Governor & criticized him harshly. Today, he did what @GovRonDeSantis is unwilling to do, showed-up & answered tough questions. Every candidate should do this- not just show up in friendly places for softball interviews.

...
#TheView's @ananavarro presses Fla. Democratic gubernatorial candidate @CharlieCrist on switching parties and his past conservative agenda: "I changed parties because my party changed. It started with the rise of the tea party back in '09 and 2010 and it really has metastasized."

decent from most. He made sure people could vote even as a republican . He also has years of a record as a Democrat in Congress.

Dems seemed to not care. If Dems didn't care, I can't imagine it would effect the decision much for anybody else in a general election.

Sen. Warren was a Republican turned Democrat. So is Crist and Caruso.

I don't think that one factor is a deal breaker and you obviously don't either - at least for some.

He isn't claiming to have liberal solution to those problems.

There are some issues like abortion where he will say he is prochoice becsuse he has no chance of winning without being prochoice.

He sounds sane, which is miles better than DeSantis, who's just gone off the deep end entirely. Florida, are you listening?

19th Century English political figures. Whichever, he had initially taken one position on an issue then changed his mind and supported the opposite positions. Another member of Parliament, usually against Disraeli-or-Gladstone, was twitting him about his change of heart on the issue. Disraeli-or-Gladstone responded, "When I find myself in error, I correct it like any intelligent person would. Tell me, what is it you do in that circumstance?"
