Have you seen funeral attendees list?

Not sure I've ever heard of that many world leaders in one place. It makes the G20 sound like a small gathering.

To be honest it reminds me a little of the plot line for London Has Fallen (which is not winning any Oscars but did have Morgan Freeman in it at least)

She served her country as well as any world figurehead.

They have a special language for the chickens. Very deferential because even the big dogs are terrified of the chickens.

I read a quote from Macron, who said "She may have been YOUR Queen, but to the rest of us she was THE Queen."

A wonderful woman who lived an incredible life.

St. Ronnie's state funeral service had 4,000 people in attendance.

Shinzo Abe's state funeral has 6,000 dignitaries expected to attend, and the Japanese people are hopping mad about the price tag.

And not respect the monarchy as anything but a tourist attraction. I don’t respect Hollywood, but I respected Paul Newman.

But the queen and now the king is a lot more than just for tourists.

First, they are incredibly wealthy. Like billionaires and the largest single landowner in the UK.

The queen, now the king, receive a daily red box that contains everything being done in parliament, including state secrets.
If it was just show, if they had no real power, there would be no need to expose her to extremely sensitive state secrets.

The military take an oath to follow the orders of the queen, not the prime minister or Parliament.

While yes, the crown's powers are very limited, to say it's all for show is not accurate either

They don’t have any power like they used to but they do play a role as head of state and in government and also in the commonwealth. They can override decisions, but it would only be in some type of emergency and it has to follow rules of parliament.

In the mid 17c they stopped being a monarchy briefly and became a republic commonwealth and then they brought back the monarchy as a constitutional monarchy.
