This is a photo of a group called Blacks for Trump. Posing next to them are members of the White Nationalist group called the Proud Boys. Some are holding up White Power signs. People are entitled to vote against their own interests but this is quite the juxtaposition.

(5,125 posts)I THINK it HAS to be some deep religious sell.
That or they think if they get IN then they can increase the presence of Blacks in the higher circles of power.
But they are either sold a full bill of goods against everything DEM from the ALT Reich kNews or yeah, they are complete sell outs.

(601 posts)... of course that depends on your definition of 'conservative'. The P. Boys are organized behind the idea that Western Civilization, i.e. white people, built the greatest civilization in human history. I'm going with the proposal that it was a paying gig.

(2,357 posts)Would Donald J. Trump EVER in a million years invite me to Mar-a-Lago for a sit-down dinner. If the answer is "probably not," then he doesn't deserve your vote.

(32,097 posts)They are there for every rally. They are there to promote their web site, the URL which is on their t-shirts, and pushes all sorts of whack-o conspiracies. Trump puts them in a prominent place so he can say, "See! I have my own black people. They love me, too." In return, they get to advertise their crazy web site.
The one guy who is always there is Maurice Symonette, a big-wig in the Yahweh ben Yahweh cult. Look him up. He's a crook and a con man.

(16,864 posts)you would want them in t-shirts like that to avoid conflicts with the typical trumper crowd.
i know i would not set foot in a group like that unless i had something like the shirt to avoid harassment.
Lots of white gop pols love to have blacks on staff to look more diverse.
Getting in a photo like this makes these folks a rather big fish and a rather small pond....
Could be a GREAT career move.

(14,858 posts)I overheard him agreeing with a white MAGAt at work that Trump "actually won" the last election, and this country would be in great shape if it wasn't "stolen" from him.
I wondered if he was trolling the white idiot, so I asked him the next day (during break) if he really supported Trump. He said that he did!
It's a large building, and we don't work in the same area. So I don't talk to him often, but only occasionally during breaks.
My impression of him is that he's very poorly educated, religious, and very prone to believing crazy conspiracy theories.
After Queen Elizabeth died, he told me to look up a naked child who tried to escape from the royal palace by climbing down bed sheets that he tied together... before falling to his death. He said something like, "Those people in power are doing all kinds of sick stuff!"
I later Google-searched it, and it only took me about 5 seconds to realize it was BS! Here's a Snopes article about it actually being part an advertisement for a TV show:
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/escape-from-buckingham-palace/
Edit: He also mentioned to me in the past that he and his family moved to this area (Dayton OH) from Texas, if that matters.
MOST of my coworkers (at a factory) have a Southern accent, by the way! I sometimes feel like yelling, "Go back where you came from, you stupid redneck!" But I never do that, of course. I operate a computer-controlled specialty machine all day, rarely interacting with anyone while doing it, and I hope to keep it that way. I don't want to talk to most of my coworkers since it has become clear that I'm not going to learn anything from the majority of them.
