Understanding Boebert

Boebert’s father was a professional wrestler who falsified a DNA test and never acknowledged her.
Surprised me to have missed this. Childhood trauma with this one.

https://www.salon.com/2021/07/31/republican-star-lauren-boebert-spins-fables-about-her-childhood--but-the-real-story-is-better

Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado, a right-wing Republican and prominent member of the "Sedition Caucus," frequently speaks about her upbringing in a family struggling with poverty, describing herself as a "welfare child." Boebert has even blamed the liberal ideals held by her mother as the reason why her family was poor and required government assistance during her childhood.

But both in Washington circles and in speaking to voters in her Colorado district, Boebert has not discussed in detail exactly what circumstances landed the future right-wing firebrand and her mother in this disadvantaged situation. An investigation by Salon suggests that it had less to do with liberal ideology and more to do with her mother's failure to obtain the child support payments to which she was rightfully entitled.

Boebert's mother, Shawn Roberts Bentz, tried valiantly for years to receive child support — and it appears likely that she and her daughter fell victim to a corrupt phlebotomist, a professional wrestler turned deadbeat dad, and a negligent North Carolina child support system that allowed Bentz's case to slide through the cracks.

Boebert has occasionally been asked what role her biological father played in her family's struggles, and has repeatedly declined to answer. Exactly who her father was, in fact, remains officially uncertain: No father's name was listed on her 1986 Florida birth certificate, nor in the local newspaper's birth announcement.

1. She could have gone hungry and lived under a bridge if not for liberal government assistance.

Nothing I have seen of her mother indicates anything resembling "liberal ideals." I'm sorry she had such a rough childhood, but she's just taking out her daddy issues on the ones who helped her survive them. She doesn't need to be in Congress. She needs to be in therapy.

Another Qpublican who got help from the government and then claims, they did it all by themselves. Typical Qpublican, I got mine, screw everyone else.

When dealing with damaged humans, instead of asking: “What’s wrong with you?” I’ve learned to ask: “What happened to you?”

5. No reason to think she'd be any better of a person with a two-parent upbringing.

She might have finished high school, gotten a little college, and make slightly fewer ignorant mistakes.

But most of the 65M others who voted for tRump did have that background, chose to fill their funds of knowledge with the same dishonest, hostile trash anyway, and make the same ugly, dangerous choices. Including the racist mother who reproduced herself, complete with liking for public acting out.

It’s so obvious with her. I offer no opinions here on the 65 million others who are not well.

10. :) Very possible. Lauren apparently started contacting him through his mother

when she was 13. Unfortunately for her, Lauren IS her mom physically and apparently in character, albeit with better hair and makeup. And it does seem unfortunate for her. Social media documents the two maligning and harassing the wrestler, and his wife, for over a decade.

He's apparently one of the guys in this video below. I could see a pregnant teen preferring to claim any of them as the father to the more normal sort around, even if he didn't have more means to pay child support. No opinion either way on the paternity claim. But lots on Boebert's and mother's character.

That's wild!
I grew up watching him as a kid. He's an iconic wrestler of the early 80s and wrestled in NWA & early WCW.
I'll have to show my friend this who works for the WWE & is a big honcho in production. She'll love this lol
That's hilarious lol He was a "face" (good guy) and wrestled for a tag team called "The Fabulous Ones".
What a trip this is!
Thanks for sharing

He's on the left in the pic blow pictured with wrestling manager the iconic Jim Cornette (who by the way is VERRY involved in Social Justice movements and is a Democratic Socialist) and "Big Bubba" in the background before he became famous as the late 80s WWF icon "The Big Boss Man".

She claims there was no money until she moved away from home in 2007 when she married Jayson. She was a filing clerk and eventually a pipfitter (about $35K a year) until 2013.

According to her congressional filings, the restaurants were all sold at a loss to the tune of 100's of 1000's.

And yet on a $174,000 salary as a congress critter she's made $40 Million since 2019.
