My special remembrance piece from Queen Elizabeth's Coronation.

I've mentioned before that my mom spent the last week of her pregnancy with me watching the Queen's Coronation so my fascination for the royals was triggered unusually early.

When I was in London for her Silver Jubilee, I bought a fair number of souvenirs. But one day my brother (who is the KING of charity shop finds and deals) came waltzing in, on my birthday, with a wrapped piece of glassware. A pretty snazzy glass commemorating that very Coronation. This is one of the best birthday gifts I've ever received.

It was vacation, and I was like 11 or so IIRC.

I remember stuff with that logo (or similar) all over the place.

Also I remember, the album Abba - Arrival had just come out and the posters for it were everywhere, esp. in all the music shop windows.

It was purchased with coupons in gold metal flour. My mom had a good sized set.

I was 2nd born and he was last born. He's very down to earth, exceedingly intelligent and very thoughtful.

This is how nice he is. His ex-wife is coming to visit, next month. She's still my best friend, and his. He's now met he new husband and they get along just great. Every other year he flies out to Northern California to help a widowed friend of his with, well, what ever is falling apart or needs removing. He's pretty much a jack of all trades.

He reminds me a whole lot of our dad who was the best person I've ever known.
