sure it is historical, but there are some serious topics that could use some air time as well.

until they brought Andrea Mitchell on. I immediately switched to CNN, where the channel remained until the procession stopped to transfer the casket to the car when I turned it all off

I cannot stand Andrea Mitchell. No reason to have her ruin it.

Just as useless?

As divisive?

Thinks she's part of the monarchy?

Several possible reasons right there.

I watched the BBC coverage on PBS. It cut way back on the yapping talking heads. The commentary was relatively unobtrusive, with British experts in royal protocol explaining what was going on.
They had interesting guests in the wee hours of the morning, right before the actual coverage started. People like felicity Kendal, Sebastian Coe and Andrew Lloyd Webber, all of whom had unique insights into the royal family. I switched over to C-SPAN a couple of times, too. The broadcast networks and cable channels were a little too chatty for me that early in the morning! Lol.

Weekend at Bernie's comes to mind. There. I said it. Meanwhile, Puerto Rico is underwater with no power...again.

Color me shocked that TV personalities covering an historically significant event want attention.

As a shout-out to the production crew, however, who have likely worked under tight deadlines and restrictions, I don't have a problem with it.

That is not an easy job.

Hoarse Whisperer is deliberately obtuse.

But a friend watched on Sky News and said the commentators talked only to explain who people were. She said PBS was pretty good, too.

Had to change channels a couple times, though, as their background noises were intrusive and distracting. Along with the rattles and clunks, it sounded like someone was having fun peeling off long yards of duct tape, totally not the music expected for solemn events. Whatevahs.
