"SNIP......
A new Politico/Morning Consult poll underscores long-standing trends: The GOP enjoys an advantage on economic issues, as well as immigration and national security. Conversely, Democrats are more trusted on health care, the coronavirus, protecting Medicare and Social Security, and voting rights.
More surprising results come in a handful of policy areas where the parties shifting positions have scrambled the usual political battle lines in recent years: education, gun policy and energy. Voters are close to evenly split on all three, but they lean toward trusting congressional Democrats more by 3- to 5-point margins.
We also asked voters how enthusiastic they feel about voting in November. The results, along with other recent surveys, indicate that Dems have closed the gap with or even exceeded Republicans on this measure: Sixty-one percent of Democrats say theyre very or extremely enthusiastic, compared to 57% of Republicans.

(12,321 posts)honestly Democrats have proven that they are much better with the economy, crime, border security and national security.
I truly have no trust in polls since majority are conducted by Republicans and reported by Republican run media.

(21,788 posts)They have blocked every immigration reform that comes up, the economy nearly always does better under Democrats (particularly for working class folks). And national security, when their top dog steals and lies about classified government documents and appoints traitors to top level security positions?

(6,398 posts)...so they can get an extra case of Keystone Lite?
As for National Security, its less about the TFG and more about their congress people. Reagan and both Bushes led a ramp up on military expenditures and the GOP complied so well, they made sure all that military stuff was made in their district/state.
And immigration, that's code for less white people.

(45,514 posts)back during Trump, media have asked people how they've benefited from his tax cuts, or the stock market, or tariffs without much to answer for. People who don't own stocks still felt good somehow by the stock market doing well.

(6,398 posts)Was part of a facebook conversation that got me unfriended or unfollowed. They were talking about the Stock Market and since I KNOW they didn't have anything in there I asked "how much are you invested in? No need for exact numbers, but I'm in it for six figures".
That was the record scratch that ended the conversation.

(220 posts)and it's demand for 'bothsiderism' is intended to create the illusion that fascists are just a bunch of nice people with a counter view. The GQP has been so for several decades, another media failure in pointing that out.

(21,177 posts)2008 under Bush the economy collapsed
2020 the mishandling of the Covid response and a slowing economy was because of the TFG ineptitude.
These red states are not doing g great economically and have higher unemployment than blue states.
The republicans give tax cuts to the rich and never help regular working people. I ost some of my dedications under TFG.
What exactly is it that repukes have done to help working people?
So I never get this narrative.
It feels like Republican leaning writers are spinning this bs for repukes.
