More Things You Have To Believe To Be A Republican Today, No. 10

Two years ago, when I posted the first of these lists, I called it "an election eve reminder to 'Vote Unless You Want People Like THIS Running The Country' ". Well, this time the stakes are higher and so, another look into the world of conservative doublethink.

Previous editions are available at my journal page:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=journals&uid=171954

Revising an oldie:

* Sending racy Tweets and pictures of yourself to a woman you aren't married to is a much more serious crime than actually having sex with someone you aren't married to and having her get an abortion despite being a "pro-life" congressman.

And one for Paul Ryan:

* Disagreeing with the Catholic Church on birth control and abortion is a "War on religion". Disagreeing with the Catholic Church on the death penalty, immigration, caring for the poor, and the Iraq War is not.

More Things You Have To Believe To Be A Republican Today:

* George HW Bush, George W Bush, Jeb Bush, John McCain, Rand Paul, Steve Forbes, Connie Mack IV, and Willard Mitt Rmoney are all self made men and don't owe their success to anyone else's prior accomplishments.

* You want to change the Constitution so Arnold Schwarzenegger can run for President, but not all babies born on American soil are citizens.

* You get outraged every time a Democrat blames anything on George W. Bush, but blame things on Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter at every opportunity.

* The death of Osama Bin Laden was a testament to the great leadership of Willard Mitt Rmoney.

No. I'm not making that one up:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/09/10/1130048/-One-in-six-Republicans-say-Mitt-Romney-deserves-the-credit-for-killing-bin-Laden

* It's okay that Paul Ryan had to provide ten years of tax returns to the Rmoney campaign when being vetted for Vice President. It's not okay that people keep asking for ten years of Rmoney's tax returns while vetting him to be President.

* $250,000 a year is "middle class"

* Asking the top earners to pay more in income taxes is "divisive". Referring to half the country as "moochers" is not.

* Cutting the $450 million a year funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting while increasing defense spending and giving the rich another $5 trillion tax cut will balance the budget.

* Abortion is an absolute wrong even in cases of rape, incest, or to protect the life of the woman carrying the fetus. Abortion is permissible when the woman carrying the fetus is the mistress of a married, pro-life, family values Republican congressman.

* Slavery was a good and Christian practice, and Abraham Lincoln was a war criminal and the Anti-Christ for ending it.

* Defense cuts are bad because they lead to job losses. Cuts to any other part of the government are irrelevant to job losses.

* The losses of life in Benghazi are the fault of the President, not the Republican Congress that voted to cut funding for embassy security.

* Barack Obama is the worst authoritarian dictator since Hitler, and completely helpless and incapable of doing anything to help the economy or fight terrorism.

* Michelle Bachmann, Louie Gohmert, Alan West, Todd Akin, and Joe Walsh are intelligent, rational human beings.

* Barack Obama's college transcripts from thirty years ago are of vital national importance. Willard Mitt Rmoney's tax returns from the last ten years are nobody's business.
