US Rep. Adam Schiff, who serves on the House committee investigating the January 6, 2021, insurrection, expressed his frustration Saturday with the slow pace of the various criminal investigations conducted by the Department of Justice into the attack on the US Capitol.
They have been very slow, though, on the much more comprehensive, and I believe, even more significant investigation of January 6, the California Democrat said here at the Texas Tribune Festival.
Schiff criticized the DOJs overall strategy, saying he believes it was a mistake for the department to start its investigation from the ground up with those who broke into the Capitol because that works when you have one plot, one conspiracy. It doesnt work when there are multiple lines of effort to overturn an election, multiple plots, that may be all part of the same whole, but nonetheless each operating independently.

and I understand his frustration..however...I'm tired of the J6 committee versus the DOJ verbal standoff...Schiff and the committee are tasked with telling the story of January 6 and as near as I can tell they, too, started from the ground up..Oath Keepers, Proud Boys,Bannon, Navarro, Eastman, Giuliani, Powell, Lindell, Clark, Meadows, White House aides, Ornato, Cipillone, ...thereby clearing the path to Trump...and while Schiff may know "stuff we don't know yet", he isn't privy to Garland's federal grand jury witnesses and their testimony anymore than we are...the J6 committee dangles tidbits of information.."Ginni Thomas to testify"..."it's worse than we thought"..."blow the roof off the house" and then rolls out the reveal in a riveting must watch mini series, while the DOJ quietly serves subpoenas, confiscates phones and laptops, and conducts under the radar search and seize...not sure which is better...
