General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI'm thoroughly fed up with the media's "sympathetic" portrayal of Trump and his legal woes.
"He's not happy."
SO...EFFING...WHAT.
"He could lose his businesses"
SO...EFFING...WHAT.
"He would not be able to go to trial with the New York AG because he could not control his ego and impulses"
SO...EFFING...WHAT.
He has EARNED this. It's a lifetime of lies and deception and fraud come home to roost. And while I DO NOT ANTICIPATE A SINGLE DAY OF PRISON TIME, I DO believe he could take a broadside in his wallet, and HE'S EARNED THAT TOO.
I guess telling us how Trump is feeling represents "news" to the news media. Sadly, I REALLY DON'T CARE IF HE'S HAPPY OR SAD.

(8,086 posts)Much as I enjoy him finally getting some payback for a lifetime of abuse and harm to others, I am so sick of seeing that bloated orange face on TV, in news feeds, everywhere and all the time.
I want him in prison without any access to media.
I want him out of all our lives and the life of this nation, forever.

(8,086 posts)Pretty much every day the top story in my feed is Trump. Go to YouTube and you'll see at least three or four Trump related stories in the top ten. Cable news: Trump, for and against. Open any newspaper, national or local, and there's that bloated visage, those malignant eyes, that contemptuous scowl. He gets at least three times as much coverage as the actual president of the United States.
I'm glad, enormously glad, about the investigations and will dance in the street when he's indicted and then convicted. I'm just sick of this buffoon sucking up so much of the public oxygen supply.

(1,604 posts)Ownership of media is concentrated in less than a dozen hands, almost all conservative. Managing editors are also hired for their political slant, and this affects hires of reporters and analysts. Most liberal journalists are now independent bloggers, purged in successive waves from more traditional outlets.
Many journalists do not like Trump, but they like their salaries. The Rachel Maddows of the world are rare and are frequently in contention with their management. They also seldom go into politics. The GOP, on the other hand, groom their political prospects by making sure the have stints as media analysts. This just builds the echo chamber.
Finally, note that TFG and the whole QAnon movement is a distraction. What you are not hearing is Biden's and the Democrats' achievements. This is very deliberate.

(7,859 posts)the media insisted we Democrats "understand" the Trump voter, the anti-maskers/anti-vaxxers, the Oath Keepers/Proud Boys, "good people on both sides', the wall, the muslim ban..and that same media insisted we "understand" Trump's never-ending lies, his callous disregard for human life, his election loss revenge, his insidious coup attempt, and now his need to steal and hide classified documents..Trump has a SAD?...tough shit!

I don't trust the news; I may love Nicole and Rachel and Lawrence and others, but I don't trust the leaders of the organizations they are paid by.
DU for me.

Does he have any stories where he is not the center of the story?
He takes greedy to a new level, and when it all comes out, it probably is twice as bad as I think now?
That's hard for me to comprehend.
