Pete Buttigieg: 'Republicans care more about using problems than finding solutions'

That's a paraphrase -- but you need to listen to the video. He pegs DeathSantis on his trafficking of migrants to benefit himself and talks about how this is something that someone who has no solution to a problem does. DeathSantis (and all Republicans) only wants to use that problem to bring attention to, or benefit himself/themselves. I'm not young and I can tell you this has been the Republican modus operandi for DECADES - all my life. They care about USING the problems Americans face to pull attention-getting stunts to help themselves -- a hell of a lot more than they care about SOLVING those problems. Republicans don't DO policy anymore and have not for generations. They just do stunt propaganda. They do not work to solve problems for America or Americans. They haven't for years. And Secy Pete NAILED DeathSantis on that. But it isn't just DeathSantis. It's THE ENTIRE PARTY.

On DeSantis and border hysteria: “It’s one thing to call attention to the problem… It’s another thing to just call attention to the problem because the problem is actually more useful to you than the solution, and that helps call attention to yourself.”

They want the issue to be as big a problem as possible to jack up their base. If they cared, they'd spend time consulting with the Venezuelan government and offering solutions to making the situation there more stable.
