[McConnell] Calls her "the most effective first-term senator I've seen in my time in the Senate"

Right now, Sen. McConnell is introducing Sen. Sinema ahead of her speech at U of Louisville

Calls her "the most effective first-term senator I've seen in my time in the Senate"

Sinema speaking now about her friendship with McConnell—she says based in “our pragmatic approach to legislating, respect for the Senate, love for our home states, and dogged determination on behalf of our constituents”

After McConnell suggests Sinema saved Senate for opposing filibuster change, Sinema calls 60-vote threshold a "guardrail" ... and "a tool that requires new federal policy to be broadly supported by senators, representing a broader cross-section of Americans"

Sinema: "If you don't fit in today’s Washington, trust me, they want to kick you out. But I've never really wanted to fit in, in Washington or anywhere else."

Interesting: Sinema calls for restoring 60-vote threshold for *everything* in the Senate—nominations included

Sinema says her top remaining priority is immigration reform—says she'll reach out to Cornyn post-election

Her goal: "bringing in good people who want to be a part of this country... and also to ensure that we actually have security on our border. Right now, we do not."

Kyrsten Sinema had a fun time with the Arizona Chamber of Commerce yesterday at its annual gathering. She even got a huge ovation for promising to never support raising taxes on big corporations!

Huddled on the Senate floor: Manchin, Sinema, Thune and McConnell:

knowing what they were going to get (but hoping!)...have what they didn't know they were going to get.

Of course, our side didn't seem to have an electable alternative, and remembering that Martha McSally was the default should help -- Sinema's a "win." But she can at least serve as a cautionary tale for other races, like 2024. There were plenty of alarming warning signs.

Look at DeathSantis down in floriduh. He's using funds to ship Immigrants to blue states to troll Dems using taxpayer money and that hurricane is heading for floriduh. I guess he'll be begging Pres. Biden for money if that hurricane destroys that place, meanwhile trash Biden and continue to ship immigrants to blue states.

THAT big bag of shit needs to be recalled, but they don't have that mechanism in floriduh I was told.

Restore the 60-vote threshold for everything, including nominations? Well, sure! Why not? NOw that McConnell has gotten all he wanted from the simple majority.

Also, using her to push the Republican immigration ideas.

McConnell is looking ahead. Maybe he can get Sinema to switch Parties if Democrats end up with a one-vote majority?

Is she trying to be the Democratic "McCain"?
