6. Even though Nixon was quite a few years ago, he was very young then and a very small fry.

He likes to puff up his Nixon credentials but he was really a peripheral upstart back then. He dropped out of college at age 20 to work on the '72 re-election campaign, and was -- despite often calling himself an advisor or aide -- a junior scheduler. He was rewarded for his campaign work with a job in the Office of Economic Opportunity (then part of the "War on Poverty" but since renamed and relocated, now called the Office of Community Services, and a part of HHS), but quit after Nixon resigned.
