Medical Marijuana Certification

In many states, a person must purchase certification from the state in order to legally obtain medical marijuana.

As far as I am aware, a person is not required to purchase certification in order to obtain any other medication in any state of the union.

It seems to me that mandating purchased certification in order to legally obtain medical marijuana is discrimination.

What are your thoughts regarding this issue?

Specifically for that “prescription”. They charge a lot ($150 for mine) for a telehealth visit. Okay. Last year I also had to pay the state $50 for the card. That has been dropped. It was $60 to re-up this year.

I really only got the card out of principal but I have used it.

Eh, yeah it’s probably discriminatory but I’ll pay it.

I’m glad to pay it. I do wish federal banking laws would change. Be a whole lot easier than chasing down cash every time I go to the dispensary.

..of my last visit with my primary doc to show I have discussed my use with my med dr. I actually get MORE medical advice from the MMJ provider.. shes a holistic doc so she gives me a diff take on my health care needs. Thats JUST so I can get my Med card that gives me a break on our state tax on weed.

Weed is 100% legal here so I just walk into any weed store and get what I want.. I just use the med card for a bit of a discount.

Still..... 3$ joints dont need (much of) a discount

and what are the chances it would be successful.

I've used cannabis for >50 years, and I never thought I'd live to see the day I could put my medicine in my pocket (& my permit in my wallet) and walk out of my home without worrying my life could be ruined by being caught with a little flower in my possession. I felt light as a feather the first time.

And so, I'm optimistic that these United States can do even better.

Anyone know a good attorney who would be courageous enough to move this forward? It could ultimately be very rewarding.
