around Cooper City and Sterling. There are nasty-looking storms from Ian's feeder bands approaching the Miami area, too.
...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM EDT FOR SOUTHERN BROWARD COUNTY... At 729 PM EDT, a confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado was located over Nova Southeastern University, or over Davie, moving north at 25 mph. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW! HAZARD...Damaging tornado. SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado. IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes, businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete destruction is possible. Locations impacted include... Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Coral Springs, Davie and Plantation. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... To repeat, a large, extremely dangerous and potentially deadly tornado is on the ground. To protect your life, TAKE COVER NOW! Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. (13,907 posts)in South Florida, Miami Dade area will be displaced by 2060 because of water intrusion. That's a lot of people who will have to find shelter. I see it as musical chairs with real estate as the chairs and water is the music. Who will be stuck with the property when the tide does not go back out?
Just one of the reasons I left my 40 year home and move a bit farther north in Florida.
