There Is A Fishing Scandal That Involves Two Dudes Stuffing Weights Into Fish

https://uproxx.com/sports/fishing-scandal-stuffed-weights-into-fish-video/

A lot of sports that don’t get nearly as much attention as your footballs or your basketballs have been engulfed in controversy lately. There is a gigantic chess scandal in which the No. 1 player in the world, Magnus Carlsen, alleges that he has been on the other side of cheating by Hans Niemann. And earlier this week, poker has seen allegations of cheating pop up, too, during a Hustler Casino Live stream that featured an all-in decision that made little sense.

And now, the world of fishing is getting in on the fun. The following video, which shows arguments over weights being placed inside of fishes, began circulating on Twitter on Saturday. Things are obviously testy, and then, someone pulls out a knife, cuts the fish open, and some weights do, indeed, come out. At one point, it was discovered they stuffed a walleye fillet into one of the fishes to add weight.

Pretty crazy, eh? Well, let’s turn to a source for information on the internet every time we need more context to things: a message board. This time, the allegations come from the site The Ohio Outdoors, which tells us that a pair of fishermen, Chase Cominsky and Jake Runyan, were found to have cheated at “one of the biggest- if not the biggest Lake Erie walleye tourney.”

“Sounds like they’ve won some big money and a boat fishing these ‘eye tournaments, and have been accused of cheating numerous times and even failed their polygraph test after they won the fall brawl a year or two ago, but their attorney saved their asses from the sounds of it,” the poster wrote. “I’m sure more details will be shared over the next week or so, but this is crazy.”

We will, like you, wait with bated breath for the next sport with a huge cheating scandal.

..... and then place him on the highest and most powerful perch of the whole planet,... unethical behavior becomes the new normal far, deep, and wide.

If DJT can cheat the individual and also cheat the system then why can't we all use fraud to better enrich ourselves too ?

Cheating, fraud, and unethical behavior are the main implements in the toolbox to achieve success.

Thank you to the Tangerine Charlatan, your example and behavior has Made AmeriKKKa Great Again and Again. But widespread unethical behavior is not sustainable or advisable. It inevitably disrupts and destroys the social order.

But you put someone like tRUMP who is a cheating fraudulent scumbag up on a pedestal,.. making him the big big-shot leader. Cheating and fraud become normalized, more common, and prevalent.

It is like DJT condoning violence as the new acceptable normal. Now violence and threatening conduct has sky rocketed as a direct result.

Was there violence before tRUMP ? Sure.
But violence has grown exponentially since he expressed his preferences, encouragement, and tolerance for it.

The Brookings Institution analyzed the data and found definite jumps of hate crimes once tRUMPIE started wagging his viper tongue of hatred while he was aggrandizing violence.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Brookings study of data,...
(snip)
Even more alarmingly, there is a clear correlation between Trump campaign events and incidents of prejudiced violence. FBI data show that since Trump’s election there has been an anomalous spike in hate crimes concentrated in counties where Trump won by larger margins. It was the second-largest uptick in hate crimes in the 25 years for which data are available, second only to the spike after September 11, 2001. Though hate crimes are typically most frequent in the summer, in 2016 they peaked in the fourth quarter (October-December). This new, higher rate of hate crimes continued throughout 2017.
The association between Trump and hate crimes is not limited to the election itself. Another study, based on data collected by the Anti-Defamation League, shows that counties that hosted a Trump campaign rally in 2016 saw hate crime rates more than double compared to similar counties that did not host a rally.
... there are cheating scandals in places that are not the US, so the normalization of Donald Trump would not explain why the world's ethics have been plummeting. I pretty much feel that Donald Trump is a symptom, not a cause, but it is a feedback loop, and having him win all the marbles and brag about how he cheated to get them doesn't make it any better.
and courteous. If they're having good luck on a certain type of bait, or a certain color lure, they're happy to tell you about it.
But tournament fishermen (I haven't run into a tournament fisherWOMAN yet, though Im sure they're out there) are NOT fishing-folk.
In his book, the fishermen would go out ahead of the contest and catch big "lunkers" and hide them in the lake
and retrieve them during the contest. Carl Hiaasen is a hoot.
The worst part about this whole thing is this is probably not the first time they have cheated and there is tons of money involved.
Walleye slam they won a $100k
The fishermen around him were pissed as hell. Literally yelling for the police to get them while the fish were getting cut open. This is on par with Horse Thieving and Lobster pot robbing (I am pretty sure these crimes used to have the death penalty but now do not). Fishing is one of those activities these guys give their all in. They wake up at like 3 am and fish till their hands bleed. These are the guys who don’t bring coolers of beer to fish. They are fishing sober! Sober fishermen aren't there to listen to music and catch a buzz on a boat! THEY DON’T PLAY MUSIC NOT TO SCARE THE FISH! I like fishing, but half the fun is being on a boat, playing chill music, and cracking some cold ones! If you catch one it's just a bonus! These guys don’t do all that to win… I rather fight a black bear than cross a sober competitive fisherman. These guys need to go into the witness protection program. They are probably safer in Jail than anywhere near these fishing circles.
