I'm afraid DeSantis will use his corrupt network in FL to hide how many died

Just like he did with COVID.

He'll get every corrupt local MAGA official to put false info on death certificates, to hide information from the media, and to intimidate and threaten anyone who tries to speak out.

the numbers sound suspiciously low so far, though S&R and cleanup are in their beginning stages.

Wonder how many ended up alligator food, as well?

didn't have to shut down the FL economy

and the media is actually giving DeSantis CREDIT for that - for greasing the wheels of political ambitions with the blood of the COVID dead

DeS may simply decide not to count if there's no body...

I expect the truth will be revealed some time after the deceased votes are counted in the mid term election.

With COVID they didn't hide how many people died, they hid the cause of death.

They aren't going to be able to hide the number of people who died. Among other things, there are far too many people involved in the search, rescue and recovery efforts, including Coast Guard and National Guard from states other than Florida.

The areas hardest hit were wealthy and extremely red, so mostly pre-existing tfg supporters. The Mayor of Sanibel wasn't effusive, but she mostly dodged the question and just said people should have left but hurricanes move so much, you never know for sure where it will hit. Unfortunately it shifted too late for them to respond as well as they'd have liked..

Obviously the recently dead were GQP, their most common form of voter fraud.

As mentioned upthread, there are teams of rescue workers -- professionals -- who are working around the clock trying to rescue or recover the victims of Ian. Few of them are beholden to DeSantis.

For just one example, 45 members of Virginia Task Force 1, Fairfax County’s international urban-search-and-rescue team, were deployed to Florida ahead of Ian. They are one of several FEMA supported teams deployed to Florida from out of state.

These folks aren't going to be silent if the numbers don't add up.

But there seem to be some DUers who won't believe the results unless the number of deaths exceeds some unstated threshold. It's almost as if they're going to be disappointed if the death toll isn't in the hundreds or more.

Is there an estimate of the missing? If a missing person isn’t found after a certain period of time, are they assumed to be deceased and officially counted as a death?
