(111,305 posts)and that big load of dirt has recently dropped. Christian, described as a conservative inflencer, has been silent on the subject.
I'm vaguely suspecting the angry tweets are his, now that he's had a chance to think about it.
Maybe the kid will start reevaluating his life choices. No hope for daddyrabbit.

(7,222 posts)Because you got it right about the family values conservatives now targeting the son.

(19,566 posts)He's been in the tank for his daddy and Trump (among others) up until this.
I have no idea what caused this sudden change of attitude from him, but I'm guessing daddy probably said or did something pretty awful.

(11,770 posts)My dad was so mentally unstable when it came to me and especially my mom. obsessed. Restraining orders and such. I spent first and second grade in the principal's office at recess, because my dad threatened to kill me. He would park near the school. Sometimes the principal drove me home. All the kids thought I was a bad girl, so did their parents, because I spent so many recesses in the office. No one knew it was for my protection, I was just a bad girl, and not allowed around other kids. I didn't understand, but thought I must be a bad girl, because I wasn't allowed out for recess.
It was a horrible and prolonged divorce, but I didn't understand. I remember lots of time hiding in the dark and my closet, because my mom was scared.
I can relate. My dad believed, if he couldn't have me, no one would. It's something you never really get over. I still have elementary school nightmares. Can't find my way out of school, hiding in the coat room closet, etc...

(81,383 posts)Youre in a good place here - so many of us are survivors of one affront or other.
I remember when my mom died, years ago. I posted one thing about it and the avalanche of comfort, solidarity, and deep sincere support that followed from other DUers was overwhelming. It meant so much. It really made a difference at a really shaky time - when you realize the last of your older generation has gone.
I dont think I could have gotten through it as well as I was able to - without DU. I stayed up all night reading all the posts and absorbing the love and sympathy and empathy that everybody sent. It meant the world to me.
People here really do care, even on an anonymous board like this one. Lots of pairs of open ears, open arms, open hearts, and strong shoulders are all yours at such a rough time. All given freely and lovingly. So many people here have walked along difficult paths. They know. And they are so kind.
Hope you can hang out here closely for awhile and just let us be here with you and sit with you and send you love and caring. You will not struggle through this alone.

(8,784 posts)Kochs and GQP have had enough of his destructive idiocracy. They came after Cawthorn with wheel barrows full of dirt all over the media. They killed his political life. Sure seems ole Hershel may be on their chopping block. Sure wish they would go after the two howling monkeys.

(9,088 posts)I admit, I glance at his stuff every once in a great while. As a gay man, I find it mesmerizing in a way that has absolutely no value.
But I'm also someone who will stop walking through a parking lot just to watch other people argue. There is no walking past and pretending I don't see or hear it. Nuh uh. I stop, I stare. I try to decide if there's a jersey I can buy. I am all in on it.
This feels somewhat related.
